robust debate in Iran

According to our private phone conversations with people in Tehran,
hundreds of parents have gathered by a police station in Yousef Abad,
now known as Seyyed Jamal Aldin Asad Abadi, with their hands raised to
the sky saying “Obama, please help us, they are killing our young
children.”

They must be taking this "sort of God" business too seriously. Unfortunately, they're up for huge disappointment - Obama said there's "robust debate" going on in Iran, didn't he?

Didn't he say it on Friday, the election day, before allegations of fraud appeared on Saturday and Sunday?

Yes, he did. That was silly back then, but looks even more silly now. If he were smart (or at least had some common sense) he would wait with praising Iranians until couple of days after the elections. Because you know, praising somebody who's in the process of organizing election fraud for "robust debate" doesn't look good (not to mention the election system where Ayatollahs screen the candidates and control the process from the start). But then again he's The One, common sense doesn't apply to him.

No, it does not. However, were there signs of "the process of organizing election fraud"? Or even signs of suppression of the opposition parties in the pre-election period aside of mentioned "screening"? In my limited knowledge, presidential elections in Iran have a history of legitimacy and this one did not look much different.

Well, if one looked at real Iran as opposed to your dreams about "unclenching fists" and "smart diplomacy" - sure. But even if there weren't - it doesn't take too much to just wait with praises - we are speaking of Iran, not Great Britain here.

So, the guy who blabbers about "neocons", doesn't see any signs of something might be wrong with Iranian democratic process and is completely unaware of the personal cult of Obama is welcoming me into irrelevance. If you are trying to do stand-up comedy over the internet, you aren't funny. If you're being serious, you're just looking stupid. In both cases, next time you come here please bring something better, I can tolerate stupidity in lower doses but not too much of it.

I would like to set the record straight. I am aware of the important political issues of the day such as personal cult of Obama, lack of his birth certificate, abundance of his use of teleprompters etc, you name it.
