Если копнуть и посмотреть полные результаты, выяснится, что лучшая настоящая женщина отстала лишь на 67 сотых секунды. Поэтому "dominates" неуместно. И в тексте статьи ссылка на легкоатлетические соревнования неубедительны, т.к. трансвестит в них особых лавров не снискал и не выделялся.
Так что пока, как раз, теория о том, что если тестостерона не хватает, то и побед гарантированных не жди, работает, а TheDC сияет желтизной, как "Антилопа-Гну".

А в общем, тут получается такая штука - если есть смысл в существовании женского спорта, то есть и преимущество. А если оно есть, то будет и соблазн его использовать. Пока этот соблазн уравновешивается теми барьерами, которые придётся преодолевать, и существованием общественной стигмы, но если речь пойдёт о медалях и соответственных деньгах - то мне кажется, что соблазн окажется слишком велик.

До 3-его места там действительно провал в 20 минут, но мне трудно делать дальнейшие выводы, потому что велоспорт - это не шахматы и не хоккей, я в нем плохо разбираюсь, и мне трудно судить об общем уровне подготовки велосипедисток, участвовавших в этом соревновании. В базе http://www.procyclingstats.com есть только вторая призерша (трансвестита там тоже нет, по крайней мере ни как Джиллиан, ни как Джонатан Берден), но и она больше триатлет, нежели велосипедист.
Так что да, интересный факт, как и ссылка на ч-ты Аляски по легкой атлетике, тема важная для всех сторонников женского спорта вообще и Title IX в частности, но заголовок и тон статьи подкачали. Мне кажется, пока боевая фармакология не вмешивается, а спортивные федерации следят за нормами тестостерона, женскому спорту ничего не грозит.

1) Массовый, как в статье - малозначимый, в основном любительский, велопробег. Здесь, честно говоря, я вообще проблемы не вижу. Никто специально "трансвестититься" ради этих соревнований не будет: призы в них мизерные, а позору и наказаний, если вскроется махинация, не меньше, чем в серьезных состязаниях.
2) Детско-юношеский. Здесь, как раз, проблема самая большая, потому что контроля мало, ресурсов не хватает, а соблазн выиграть небольшой приз у подростка велик, даже (и, может, скорее) ради лулзов. Кроме того, подростка сложнее заставить лечь под нож или пройти курс фарматерапии, которая бы убила тестостерон до уровня, эквивалентного уровню девушек. А перспективные девушки не проходят отбор почем зря. Тут необходимо идти путем Сев. Каролины, другого выхода я не вижу.
3) Профессиональный. Тут, если выдвинуть операцию, как необходимое требование, проблема исчезнет, потому что я не думаю, что кто-то будет изображать Il Castrato ради такой перспективы. Да, лучшие женщины в большинстве видов спорта, связанных с силой и скоростью уступают топ-500 мужчинам, но среди этих топ-500 изначальных трансвеститов нет тоже (я думаю, нет и в топ-5000), а "специально" становиться ими никто не будет. Если же будет считаться, что курса таблеточек достаточно, то, особенно в странах Азии и Африки, действительно откроется ящик Пандоры.
Изначально, однако, весь идиотизм ситуации возник из-за того, что "проблему" придумали люди, которым вообще принцип спортивного соревнования чужд, и которые с удовольствием раздали бы всем participation trophies, и дело с концом.

С детским тоже беда выходит - требовать каких-то серьёзных изменений у детей нельзя, даже в легитимном случае там ещё нечего делать особо, а учитывая, что речь идёт о подростках - будет бардак.

С другой стороны, в профессиональном спорте крутится столько бабла, в легкой атлетике скажем, что мне трудно представить, как спонсоры и т.д. разрешат пускать такого козла в огород. Пока случаев на этом уровне не зафиксировано, кроме Дженнера, который, все же, поехал головой тридцать лет спустя и после брака с Кардашьян.
