А при чём тут федеральный закон? Этих мигрантов в 2017 году арестовала полиция округа, держали их в окружной кутузке, и по надлежащему процессу должны были отпустить после внесения залога или отмены обвинения – а уж на выходе их должна была повязать ICE. То, что последняя не была в состоянии это сделать в тот момент, не проблема округа.

Не согласен. У нас тут очень чувствительны насчёт "federal commandeering". Местная полиция может, но не обязана преследовать нарушителей федеральных законов. И уже задержанным тоже надлежит процесс, что и было нарушено (по мнению присяжных).

Вспомнилось, история 15-летней где-то давности. Bridgewater, что само по себе является визитной карточкой. Дэлио ещё в самом расцвете сил. Мы с группой товарищей строим им Unix environment. Сами они кроме виндов ничего не видели, не знают и знать не хотят, но нанять толковых разработчиков без доступа к линуксу не могут, поэтому пришлось нанимать нас. Видели ли вы когда нибудь эксельную таблицу, которая не помещается в терабайт памяти и требует кластер в 1000 нодов за сценой для пересчёта? Ну и вот. Мы, значит, обсуждаем какую-то репликацию. Естественно, rsync, что же ещё. Вылезает какой-то, не студент, но явно нигде больше не работал, кроме этого самого Бриджуотера - на чем этот эр-синк написан? На С. Почему не на джаве? он же не тред-сэйф и у него могут быть memory leaks. Поначалу у нас случился некоторый дедлок, ну как объяснить такому, что у rsync эти проблемы давно выловили, а во вторых для таких короткоживущих утилит это не большая проблема? Но один из наших (он потом стал менеджером) нашёлся - это, мол, industry standard and best practice. Это всех заткнуло и оказалось магической фразой в будущих столкновениях.

Вот такая история.
