Слушал сегодня NPR про экономику. Там все время - recovery то, recovery сё, это поможет recovery, это помешает... Так я не понял - у нас уже сейчас recovery? Самая тяжелая в истории депрессия уже того, почти совсем закончилась? Всем спасибо, все свободны? Хорошо бы узнать дату, когда это случилось, приблизительно... Я, конечно, подозреваю, что 20 января, но я человек пристрастный, хотелось бы услышать какой-нибудь более надежный источник.

Ну, теоретически рынок уже того, hit the rock bottom, так что теперь любое движение уже recovery.

Well, in Edmonton there are plenty of unfilled 11 dollar/hour service jobs again, and the friends financial institution posted better first quarter than the one in 2008, and is thinking of hiring back. At least said that everybodys jobs are safe for forseeable future, after the Decemeber layoffs.

Oh, yes, there are plenty service jobs for $11/hr here, too. And unpaid internships. And rare ads for computer-literate designers, min 10 yrs of work experience, for a temp position w/o benefits, to work in "challenging environment", compensation depends on experience , $10-$15 hr.

In a meanwhile in ru_ny community there is a discussion, is it OK to pay a once-a-week babysitter of a 8yo boy $10/hr, or is it too low. Consensus: the latter.

If company's owner has any brains in his head, he'd fire everybody he needs to fire at once and won't fire a little every couple of weeks. Which means short time after layoffs, naturally, everybody left is not going to be fired soon. That doesn't mean the company is doing much better, though :)
As for more general stuff - I don't know. I am sure eventually recovery is going to happen, I just want to understand what is the base of the claims it is already happening, except for Congress issuing some laws that say it should :)
