Старожилы помнят, что советский прогрессивный паралич был самым прогрессивным в мире. США тоже не чужды прогрессу:

A 2008 study of 24 leading economies by the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) concludes that, "Taxation is most progressively distributed in the United States, probably reflecting the greater role played there by refundable tax credits, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit. . . . Taxes tend to be least progressive in the Nordic countries (notably, Sweden), France and Switzerland."

Ну логика в этом какая то есть. В Штатах резко выше разброс доходов, чем в Европе.
Я не думаю, что в Штатах налоговая лестница сама по себе более "прогрессивная"

Собственно, именно это и утверждается в OECD - что налоги, если брать их в комплексе - т.е. вместе с кредитами и т.п. - в США самые прогрессивные из всех.

Я таких огромных скидок налоговых не видел нигде
