Нефтяники столкнулись на Аляске с неожиданной проблемой:
The heaviest polar ice in more than a decade could postpone the start of offshore oil drilling in the Arctic Ocean until the beginning of August, a delay of up to two weeks, Shell Alaska officials said.
Это потому, что они незнакомы с последними достижениями науки, которая ещё в 2007-м году предсказала:
NASA climate scientist Jay Zwally said: "At this rate, the Arctic Ocean could be nearly ice-free at the end of summer by 2012, much faster than previous predictions."
Всего-то отсталось пару-тройку месяцев подождать, и никакого льда в Арктике не будет вообще! Зачем, спрашивается, торопиться?
