It is now becoming clearer why Lois Lerner took the Fifth in her testimony. Judicial Watch obtained the emails she exchanged with the FEC where she provided the FEC with confidential tax information regarding conservative groups. Under Section 6103 of the Internal Revenue Code, it is a felony for an IRS official to disclose either ‘return information or ‘taxpayer return information,’ even to another government agency.
