An influential Democratic lawmaker on Sunday called for reinstatement of the draft as a way to boost U.S. troop levels and draw a broader section of the population into the military or public service.
Однако. Если этот законопроект будет внесен, теперь при демократическом большинстве - что произойдет в головах у либералов, обвинявших республиканцев в том, что они введут призыв? Т.е. продолжат ли они утверждать, что это хитрый план, призванный показать народу опасность республиканцев, или наоборот - призыв с января окажется благим делом? Или взамен сам автор законопроекта окажется скрытым республиканцем и близким другом Карла Роува?
