well, that was rather big-brush generalization...if he meant - politically, how he know for sure political views of everyone in that room? of course, if they all, to one person, were lefties, he might be justified of saying so. Having lived here long enough, I have encountered like-minded [politically] people in most unexpected places, so I stopped being so cock-sure in my guessing.

It doesn't say "everybody is wrong". "Room contains all X" is not the same as "Everybody in the room is X".
Besides that, everybody is wrong sometimes, only when politicians are wrong it costs million times more than when a private citizen is wrong. This is one of the main reasons I am a libertarian.
