Почему авиалинии берут дополнительные бабки за багаж? Из жадности? Возможно, но есть другая идея.

Дело в том, что в цены билета (американская) авиакомпания платит налог - 7.5%. Однако этот налог распространяется только на цену билета и не взимается с цены дополнительных услуг - таких, как оплата багажа. United, например, получает 700 миллионов в год как оплату багажа. Если бы они включали это в цену билета, то потеряли бы на этом 52.5 миллиона долларов.

Разумеется, в этом есть некоторые неудобства - многие пассажиры из-за этого не сдают багаж, что задерживает посадку, что может задержать рейс и вызвать дополнительные расходы. Но, наверное, 52 миллиона всё же больше.
