Там длинно, но я думаю, суть зачина примерно такая:

Мне многое не нравится в условной Нью-Йорк Таймс - у них есть определенный либеральный перекос в выборе фактов для освещения, значительный перекос - в позиции комментаторов и колумнистов, и по некоторым важным темам они доходят до реальной лживой пропаганды. Но по сравнению с ними условный Такер-Карлсон врет постоянно, ежечасно, напропалую и самозабвенно - и даже когда сами факты у него верны, взвешенного и самокритического подхода у него не будет *никогда*.

Т.е. в принципе не то, чтобы мы считаем, что NYT говорит чистую правду. Нет, "реально лживая пропаганда". Но - очень важный момент - риторической мишенью тут являются не они. Худшее, что может Авва сказать про тех, кто многие годы занимался "лживой пропагандой" и по вине которых возник весь этот горький катаклизм, которым мы наблюдаем - "мне многое не нравится". А кто виноват по-настоящему? Такер Карлсон?

В сторону: удивительно, кстати, почему выбран именно он. Есть, например, отличный сочный Алекс Джонс, которого суд недавно признал клеветником и разорил. Есть ещё множество не менее одиозных личностей. Наконец, есть очевидная Цитадель Сатаны - Фокс Ньюс, представляющая отличную цель хотя бы тем, что кроет всю партийную прессу по аудитории, как бык - даже не овцу, а полевую мышь. Есть, наконец, опасный Роган, у которого аудитория ещё во столько раз больше, и он тоже совершенно не чужд ереси. Однако литеральный гитлер в данном случае именно Карлсон. Причём, чбсх, он довольно много хуйни в последнее время наделал, рекламируя и надувая откровенное говно, но как раз чем он заслужил такой батхерт, что выступил просто-таки архетипом Отца Лжи - мне не совсем ясно. Видимо, утром в газете, вечером в куплете. Ну или тем же, чем всех Людей Доброй Воли триггерит Трамп - пусть он даже и говоит правду, но подход-то! Подход! Невзвешенный же!
Ещё непонятно, если Карлсон врёт "постоянно, ежечасно", то как оказывается, что "факты у него верны"? Что тогда враньё-то - отсутствие самокритики? Ну да ладно, не будем углубляться в гущу чащ, это не главное.

Обратно из стороны: кого же нам следует осуждать, если не NYT? Кроме аццкого Карлсона, следует осуждать людей, которые критикуют NYT за враньё. Своей необдуманной и несбалансированной критикой они подрывают авторитет (заметим, публикация вранья сама по себе авторитета не подрывает, подорвал не тот, кто соврал, а тот, кто враньё изобличил) и толкает "малых сих" (это те самые люди, которых Авва обычно называет "дурачки", но в данном случае он снисходителен) в обьятья аццкого Карлсона. Причём чем больше вранья они изобличают, тем хуже - их авторитет от этого растёт, и толчок в аццкую сторону всё сильнее!

И тем самым повышают количество лжи в мире и ее эффективность.

Нет, это я ещё раз обязан специально отметить. Не враньё увеличивает количество лжи, а его разоблачение. Обычный лох, типа меня, никогда бы до такой формулы не додумался, а если бы с бодуна вдруг такая в голову пришла - ни за что не смог бы аргументировано её доказать. Потому что лох. А вот холодный интеллектуал-рационалист - может. Учитесь.

К сожалению, Авва не предлагает рецептов - что же делать? Фер-то ке? Я чувствую себя тут немного обманутым и потеряным - надо ли мне тщательно избегать критиков, склонных к разоблачению лжи NYT? Следует ли таковую деятельность запретить - если не законодательно, то хотя бы в пределах приличного общества, соцсетей, и т.п.? Действует ли сам Авва согласно этой модели, избегая критиковать условный NYT (т.е. по факту всю партийную прессу), и советует это тем, для кого его мнение ценно? Или по крайней мере, заметив "реально лживую пропаганду", всегда снабжает её критику равной по размеру и интенсивности критикой Карлсона - если не за неверные факты, то хотя бы за отсутствие самокритики?
Увы, ответа на эти вопросы у меня нет.

Оказалось, что существует запись жалобы в полицию, где жалующийся говорит, что лично видел группу гаитян, которые куда-то тащили гусей. И Федералист считает, что это подтверждает теорию о том, что гаитянские мигранты занимаются охотой на гусей.

Не так быстро! - говорят фактчекеры Снопса! Ничего это не подтверждает!

Тут нужно остановиться на секунду и заметить, что слова evidence, proof, confirmation, и т.п., партийной прессой употребляются в тех значениях, в которых нужно в данный момент партии. И эти значения стоит уметь понимать. Так, когда партийный пропагандист говорит "no evidence", "unfounded", "baseless" и т.п., то он хочет, чтобы вы подумали, что утверждение совершенно беспочвенное, просто выдумано из головы. На самом же деле, это значит, что нет абсолютно железных доказательств, годных для любого строгого суда, и с которыми согласен сам пропагандист, того, что это утверждение верно. Под "confirmation" понимается любое высказывание, независимо от того, когда и кем оно сделано, и какова репутация говорящего - если подтверждаемое совпадает с линией партии, однако если подтверждаемое ей противоречит, то confirmation может быть лишь, опять же, абсолютно непробиваемое, неоспоримое, окончательное доказательство, никакие косвенные улики не принимаются, и даже в этом крайне редком случае подтверждается лишь непосредственное высказывание, но никаких выводов из него делать нельзя. 

Однако вернемся к Снопсу. Для начала, они не собираются проверять, ест ли кто-то в Спрингфилде диких гусей, кто именно, и насколько это реально, а насколько - преувеличено. Они проверяют совсем другое утверждение - доказывает ли эта конкретная запись жалобы, сама по себе, взятая в изоляции - то, что гаитяне в Спрингфилде едят гусей. И, разумеется, заключают, что не доказывает. Вердикт - FALSE. Прелесть его в том, что теперь любой партиец может смело заявлять, что вся история о гаитянах опровергнута фактчекерами - вот же, написано, FALSE. А то, что опровергалось совсем другое утверждение, будет справедливо сочтено недостойными уловками.

Теперь смотрим, как это доказывается.

1. Утверждение Трампа о том, что в Спрингфилде едят животных, полностью безосновательно. При этом Снопс сам упоминает несколько оснований, и скрывает ещё несколько, чтобы не смущать публику, но, как я уже говорил, слова у них значат совсем не то, что обычно. И в этом значении они правы - полного, железобетонного, неопровержимого доказательства у Трампа (и вторящего ему Вэнса) нет. Есть свидетельства, есть слухи - но железобетонного доказательства нет. 

2. Запись жалобы в полицию - настоящая. Но верить ей нельзя, потому что одной жалобе в полицию верить вообще никогда нельзя. Нет, вы не можете запомнить это и употреблять в других случаях - все утверждения фактчекеров действуют лишь в контексте данного фактчека.

3. Безответственные утверждения Трампа и Вэнса привели к многочисленным бомбовым угрозам. Никаких доказательств связи Снопс не предоставляет, но они ж не лохи какие-то, им надо верить на слово. Тем более когда оказывается, что все 33 угрозы - фальшивые и многие поступили из-за границы:

Забавно, что демократам, так обычно озабоченным иностранным вмешательством, даже не интересно, откуда эти звоночки. Откуда бы они ни были, они полезны партии, а значит - правда. 

4. Запись от 26 августа содержит жалобу некоего "Тоби", который говорит, что видел гаитян, которые держали в руках гусей. Два мужчины, две женщины. Сели в машину, он не смог рассмотреть весь номер, но знает марку и цвет. Это произошло на входе в парк, рядом с рекой. Журналисты Снопса узнали информацию о жалобщике, поговорили с ним и он подтвердил им, что лично видел то, о чём говорил.

5. Полиция не смогла найти тех, о ком сказано в жалобе, да и не пыталась. Они отфутболили жалобу в отдел защиты природных ресурсов, где её благополучно и похоронили. Разумеется, машину по частичному номеру, марке и цвету никто искать.и не пытался - с Спрингфилде сколько, скажем, 40 тысяч машин? Допустим, полпроцента из них - серые Тойоты Такома, это 200 машин. Проверить, сколько из них записаны на гаитян, как минимум, займёт сколько - пару дней? Разумеется, никто и никогда этого делать не будет, нафиг кому надо, не преступление века. 

6. Останки гусей так и не были найдены (сюрприз!) - хотел бы я знать, как они их искали, но думаю, очевидно, что так же, как и всё остальное. Но и тут проклятая неизвестность. 

7. Поскольку полиция не смогла найти и допросить любителей гусей, то утверждение о том, что они "охотились" на гусей - не доказано. Согласен - вполне возможно, что они пришли туда со своими домашними гусями, показать им речку, и гуси были так впечатлены красотой, что упали в обморок. Или, например, гуси внезапно почувствовали себя плохо, а сердобольные граждане всего лишь решили отвезти их в больницу. Есть много возможностей.

8. Неизвестно, гаитяне ли они.
