Сегодня grand jury вынесли обвинения по делу об смерти Бреонны Тейлор. По этому поводу я, чтобы освежить память, решил почитать, как же дело было. И поразился, насколько картина, которую создали у меня случайные сообщения в прессе, противоречила тому, что случилось на самом деле.

Что я думал до знакомства с подробностями?
1. Полиция вломилась без стука в неправильную квартиру, ища человека, которого к тому времени арестовали в другом месте, причём хозяйка квартиры к происходящему отношения не имела вообще.
2. Они принялись палить направо и налево
3. В результате бойфренд Тейлор стал отстреливаться
4. В результирующей перестрелке Тейлор была убита (бойфренд не пострадал).

Это всё я не сам придумал, это впечатление у меня создали сообщения прессы - притом, что я не читаю обычно CNN и т.п. - но каким-то образом такое впечатление создалось.

Что выяснилось, когда я стал разбираться?
1. У полиции был ордер на обыск именно этой квартиры, из-за прошлой дружбы Тейлор с наркоторговцем и их продолжающихся контактов.
2. Ордер был сначала "без стука", но потом был изменён, и полиция, по словам свидетелей, и постучала, и назвала себя.
3. Бойфренд Тейлор признаёт, что слышал стук, но говорит, что не понял, что это полиция, и на всякий случай выпалил через дверь. Точно по советам кандидата в президенты Байдена, надо заметить.
4. Он ранил в ногу одного из полицейских, после чего те открыли ответный огонь.
5. В последующей перестрелке ещё один полицейский был ранен, и Тейлор была убита. Бойфренд не пострадал.
6. Один из героев также умудрился прострелить соседнюю квартиру, где было три человека, включая беременную женщину и ребёнка, но к счастью, никто из них не пострадал. 

В результате, обвинение в убийстве ни одному полицейскому предьявлено не было, одному полицейскому предьявлено обвинение в wanton endangerment за стрельбу, в результате которой пострадала соседняя квартира.

Предварительные выводы у меня такие:

1. Идиот тот, кто ожидал, что на основании вышеописанных фактов - а не ещё выше описанного вранья, которым была набита пресса - присяжные могут вынести обвинение, а тем более - признать виновным в убийстве. Стрельба в полицейских редко заканчивается хорошо. Особенно стрельба по-байденовски, когда не видно, куда палишь. Последнее, кстати, и к полицейским относится, поэтому и wanton endangerment.

2. Того, кто этих полицейских обучал, надо выгнать с позором и лишить прав на владение оружием, не только огнестрельным, но и любым, начиная с рогатки. Это ж надо - втроем выпустили почти по магазину на рыло, и в результате не только ни единого разика не попали по стрелявшему, но и застрелили никакой опасности не представлявшую женщину и прострелили соседнюю квартиру. Бойфренд подстрелил двоих и не пострадал. Т.е. реально ровно для всех было бы лучше, если бы этих дятлов вооружили водяными пистолетами и клоунскими носами. По крайней мере был бы всего один раненый и ноль трупов.

3. Нахрена они вообще играли в Рэмбо? Это не была квартира наркоторговцев. Допустим даже, она его подружка, и даже допустим, хранит наркотики. Если это сколько-нибудь значимое количество, за те 30 секунд, что занимает открыть дверь, уничтожить их бесследно невозможно. Да, пакетик с травой можно спустить в унитаз. Но из-за пакетика с травой не нужно устраивать полицейский рейд. Зачем это вообще делать ночью? Это же не логово Бен-Ладена, это квартира максимум подружки мелкого наркодилера (крупный бы не пользовался помощью подружки, чтобы хранить свои запасы). От идеи, что они должны косплеить Team Six из-за каждого косяка надо полицейских систематически отучать, а происходит ровно обратное.
Кстати, судя по всему, хранил он там вовсе не наркотики, а бабло. Одно другому, конечно, не мешает... Но бабло вряд-ли бы стали уничтожать, да и уничтожить несколько тысяч наличными - не такое-то быстрое дело. 

4. Какого хера ни у одного из полицейских не было бодикамов? По-моему, за отключение бодикама при аресте - особенно при аресте, заканчивающемся такими проблемами - надо просто тупо гнать на месте. И начальство понижать в должности за развал воспитательной работы. Сколько можно уже?

5. Интересно, какова будет судьба бойфренда-снайпера. Судя по тому, что его отпустили под залог, многого ему предьявить не могут, а скорее всего, в конце концов, попив изрядно крови, не предьявят ничего. 

Ну и да, конечно же после решения присяжных начались почти совершенно мирные погромы, в которых сразу же для начала мирно подстрелили двух полицейских.
